Show PTA To Present Choral Groups In Concert Monday Cedar City music lovers will be treated to a night of choral music on Monday, May 17, when the PTA will present choral groups from the Cedar City schools in concert. Edward Ed-ward A. Sandgren, vocal instructor at the schools, will direct the music. Presented will be the High school mixed chorus, the high school giils chorus and the Junior high school girls chorus. The program will be given in the Public sqhool auditorium auditor-ium at 8:15 p. m. j In addition to the choral num-l bers, the PTA officers will present Barbara Albertson, who won one of the State PTA scholarships, wli,h a corsage. Mrs. Ned Sargent, Rez-, Rez-, ional director of the PTA, will explain ex-plain the new PTA scholarship fund. Mrs. Max Lunt, treasurer of tht local PTA group will give a short report of this year's expenditures. The choral groups will present some of the contest numbers they gave at the recent music festival in Parowan. All three groups received receiv-ed a Highly Superior rating for the numbers they sang in the contest. Other numbers of the program wH be chosen from favorite selections of the groups. A commendable feature of the program will be the presentation of the high Khool mixed chorus, which Is made up of boys and girls who sing for the Joy of singing. Throughout Through-out the school year the chorus members mem-bers have gone to school at 8 o'clock each morning to practice. The chorus cho-rus was not part of the regular currlcular of the school, but was an extra currlcular activity, with no credit being offered for it. Patrons who heard the Christmas program given by the choruses will be anxious to hear the spring concert, con-cert, for it promises to be equally as fine. |
