Show i HIGH SCHOOL NOTES A short yell practice, was given in assembly Tuesday morning and Mr. I Tanner succeeded in working up con- jsiderable enthusiasm among the i students. The high school certainly has a Liberty Loan record to be proud of. Reports show that each member of the faculty bought a bond and also th students purchased two. . Teachers' Institute will be held at Beaver the first three days of Thanksgiving week and the other two days will bf course be holidays, making a week's holiday in all. ' The Student Body has been given charge of the Friday morning assemblies as-semblies and also of the Friday night dances. A program has been .arranged .ar-ranged for this week and it is expected ex-pected that something good will be prepared for every week. A costume party will be given at the high school Friday night, Nov. 23. The committees in charge are: Secoration and ' Refreshment Mr. Danis, Mrs. McAlister and Mr. Bates; Advertising and Program Mr. McAlister, Mr. Morris and Miss Street, A new idea was de'veloped in ethics eth-ics Thursday morning. The question was, "What have the Teutons contributed con-tributed to our political freedom?" No answer came, so the next question ques-tion was "What do the Teutons like best?" This time answer was "Beer." Two hundred dollars has been promised by the schools and the School Board for gymnasium apparatus. appar-atus. Of this amount fifty dollars has been promised by the school, fifty by the elementary school and one hundred dollars by the Board. This amount will certainly help the school and everyone can help by attending at-tending the social affairs given by the school. . Due to the inability of our yell-master, yell-master, Wilfred Tanner, to be present pres-ent at the games held at night, Miss Thelma Tanner was elected in As-sembly As-sembly Tuesday morning to fill the place temporarily. A new yell-mas-, ter, or an assistant, will be elected at the next meeting of the Student Body. We are sorry if we must lose Wilfred. He seemed to be the right man in the right place. At a meeting of the Student Body Executive Board Tuesday afternoon plans were made and committees appointed for the Student Body Dance to be given at the high school Friday night. The committees appointed ap-pointed were: Reception Committee, Student Body Executive Board; Decoration Dec-oration Committee, Juanita Miller, chairman; Mr. Davis, Lehi Pitch-forth Pitch-forth and Merrill Miller; Refreshment Refresh-ment Committee, Delia Cottrell, chairman; Elva Burns, Inez Williamson, William-son, Bernice Lee and Lou Hicks; Advertising Ad-vertising Committee, Mabel Davidson, David-son, chairman; Spencer Schow and Mr. Morris; Program Committee, Wilfred Tanner and Spencer Schow. Y'ou are expected to be there. |
