Show LICHTY GETS WHAT HE DESERVES M. W. Lichty, local agent for the Salt Lake Route, has been promoted to the office of Super- visor of Transportation of the Salt Lake Route, with head- quarters in the Pacific Electric Building in Los Angeles. Mr., Lichty will be in reality assist- ant to the General Manager, and his position is a 'most de- sirable one. He takes the place S of Howard Elliott who recently spoke here in the high school auditorium upon the subject of "What the Public Can Do to Help the Railroad in War Times." We may now look for- ward to an address from Mr. Lichty at some time in the fu- ture. and the News will guar- antee an occasion of rare enter- tainment as well as of instruc- tion when "Mike" unwinds. In addition to the office named .Mr. Lichty also falis heir to the job of secretary of the Safety First and Efficiency . departments of the Salt Lake Route. He will spend part of the time in the of- lice and part of the time in trav- eling to ascertain how ami where improvements may be made in the service. Mr. Lichty confided to the News man that he really regretted leaving Mil- ford. "For." says lie. "I have never been better treated by business men any where I have lived than at Milford." Right here the News wishes to declare that we have never known a more genial and conscientious railroad agent on any road than Mr. Lichty. He deserves the promotion he has received and ' he mill make good. |
