Show COPPER RANCH CONNECTS VEIN AT 400ft LEVEL The Copper- Ranch property consists con-sists of ten claims six of them patented pat-ented and four unpatented. The main working is on one of the patented pat-ented claim? which had been abandoned aband-oned for several years by the owners. The recent demand for the metals makes the working of this mine a very profitable undertaking. The ore vein lies just above a solid granite base with a streak of lime-rock lime-rock on either side of it which makes it very easy to follow. There are faults in the formation at various depths. At the 25 0-foot level one of these occurs and it was only because of the favorable vein strata and solid sol-id granite foundation that gave the lessees, encouraged by Mac's optimism, optim-ism, faith enough to sink a shaft 1 5 feet to the 400-foot level, where the same solid granite, was encountered and the.same vein of copper ore just above it. was again picked up. It so happened that this vein had just been uncovered again at this greater depth of 400 feet when the News "representative arrived at the bottom of the shaft. The indications were most encouraging. The company has alarge quantity of ore in sight and has purchased the necessary modern machinery for the prosecution of the work. This machinery was ordered last week. Eugene Kirk has been in Salt Lake City the past week arranging for the shipment of this machinery: The company is selling 100,000 shares of the capital stock and has placed the greater portion of the same already. Messrs. Evans and Pingree of Salt Lake City are backing the proposition proposi-tion and with the new machinery installed in-stalled the Copper Ranch Consolidated Consoli-dated will soon become one of the largest shippers of Beaver county. The company is also now following follow-ing a new lead which was discovered by a Greek workman nearby the old' shaft. This Greek had a dream that at a certain point he would strike a rich ore vein if he would dig. Without With-out consulting anyone, he started digging at the spot some 150 feet from the old shaft and soon struck the copper vein which no doubt at greater depth will be found to connect con-nect with the old workings. The ore is found at so many different levels in branching or connecting veins that it seems feasible to ship nearly the entire side of the mountain as a very -profitable low grade proposition. If you ever miss A. F. McCulley from his usual haunts upon Milford's busy commercial' thoroughfare, we can tell you where lo locate him. Go veil down into the deepest" mines in the county. He'll be in one of 'em. This is why we know. Innocently we accepted an invitation to visit the property of the Copper Ranch Consolidated Con-solidated Mining Co. northwest of Milford last Monday. You know Mac. had ''an accident some months since and had his leg badly broken and it was encased in a plaster cast for several weeks. That was over in the Monitor mine . So we thought we must go along as a sort of guardian guard-ian to keep Mac. from hurting himself. him-self. We went. We have no ill feeling feel-ing against Mac. when we say that for our own sake we are glad that he had but one good leg. If he had two good legs the writer would now be in the hospital from trying to keep up and. down with him. |
