Show Samuel Allred Passes Away Samuel Alired, 80, of Spring City, died Tuesday of infirmities caused by old age. He was a pioneer of Utah and this section, navng been born June 3, 1851, while his parents,, Isaac and Mary Henderson Allred, were crossing iho plains. He was a Black Hawk Indian war veteran, having stood guard and carried mail between Spring City and Ephraim during Indian troubles. He was a continuous L. D. S. ward teacher for forty-four years, a member of the high council of North Sanpete stake for nine years. He was a member of the first Sanpete stake Y. M. M. f. A. stake presidency for twenty years. He was set apart as bishop of Spring City ward in 1913, which effice he held nearly fifteen years. He is survived by two widows, Mrs. Elizabeth D. Allred and Isa-belle Isa-belle Blain AUred. He had been married to Mrs. Elizabeth D. All-red All-red sixty-one years and to Mrs. Isabelle Blain Allred fifty-one years. Sons and three daughters by his first wife are: Samuel W., Wilson, George, Manett, I. Pratt, Spencer, Ida, Wallis, Reid H. and Geneva Allred; by his oecond wife, Mrs. Nell Nyberg and Mrs. Eva Erickson. Funeral services were held in the Spring City ward meeting house Friday at 1 p. m. for Bishop Samuel Allred. Bishop James F. Ellis presided The music was under un-der the direction of Ernest Terry. The speakers were Henry L. Acord, John Peterson, John S. Blain, S M. Nielsen and Bishop Ellis. A special solo was rendered by Luis Allred. The pall bearers were all grandsons of Mr. Allred. The flowers were carried by members of the high priest quorum. |
