Show Gulf Stream Weather Unusual warm weather along the Atlantic seaboard moves some writers to speculate upon the cause, and the idea is advanced that the Gulf Stream, is swinging closer ashore. Those who profess to know tell us that a cold water current from Labrador moves southward along the Atlantic coast, giving a chili to climate in the east, while the warm Gulf Stream, swinging towards to-wards Great Britain, makes conditions con-ditions in those islands temperate in character. Those who have been afloat in the Gulf Stream can testify as to its effect upon temperature, and its Influence upon climate ashore is established If it should swing away from Eirrope, withdrawing the beneficient effect of its heat, profound changes would be made. However, the average citizen may take it for granted, that the Gulf Stream is attending to its business in a normal manner, and that the climate of Great Britain and the eastern portion of the Unied States will retain their established es-tablished charlcteristics. |
