By Special Correspondence Mrs. Earl Blackham and children chil-dren returned home to Moroni this week after a months visit with her mother, Mrs. Lyda Guy men. , Mrs. John T. Oldroyd of Salt , Lake City, who is just recovering j form an operation of a month ago, is visiting with her mother, Mrs. Mercie Ivory. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Mayer and family spent the last week end with relatives m Eureka, Utah, j The Gloom Busters club met last Wednesday at l.he home of Mrs. Dorothy Oldroyd and after spending the afternoon in sewing and a social chat they were served to a delicious hot dinner. All the members were present. A veiy sucessful dance was held last Friday evening which was sponsored by the officers of the ward for the purpose of securing , money for ward maintainences. It was one of the best of the season as sn unusually large number of both old and young were present. A- very splendid program was given Fiday evening at 7 p. m. by the local M. I. A. The contest con-test one act play, "The Florist Shop," was presented and all in the cast c'id very well. Some very clever stunts were als: enjoyed en-joyed as well as some excellent musical numbers. A large number of officers and members of the M. I. A. attended the Green and Gold Ball which was held at Moroni Friday, January Jan-uary 16. Each of the five wards were represented with a queen who were as follows: Wanda Bagnall cf Chester, Elaine Gee of Mercni East, r-eraldine Allred ot rininfoin Green. Pearl Mcriev I Mornm West unci Edna Thomr-s of "A'.'i.ps Wanda Ha.gnall was rh-v-en as queen of the evening. I ' e';r attendants were small children. The Green and Gold contest dance was beautifully danced by about 20 coup!es. An unusually large crowd was in attendance. Miss Ella Yorgas:n, who has been laboring as an L. D. S. missionary mis-sionary for the past two years in the California mission, is visiting She is the daughter of Mr. and with relatives and friends here. Mrs. James S. Yorgascn of Burlington, Bur-lington, Wyoming and after spending a few days here, will leave for her home there. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tolley and young baby of Nephi returned home this week after a months visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hill. Mrs. Tolley was formerly Miss LaMoan Hill of our city. |
