Show THE GREAT INSANITY General Manager William E. Mall-alieu Mall-alieu of the National Board of Fire Underwriters was recently invited to talk to the National Fire Waste Coun cil. Commenting on his remarks, the Insurance Field said he had handed them an idea that illuminated the heavens of financial economy like an aurora borealis. "Imagine," he said, the situation of the 'eminent Secretary Sec-retary of the Treasury, as the representatives repre-sentatives of the American people starting each day's work by causing to be thrown into the bottomless pits of the Atlantic Ocean forty-one living liv-ing persons and a load of gold pieces worth $1,500,000. Yet the people are standing for the same thing each year in the fire losses of the country. More than that large amount of money and the lives are lost in fires in the United States each year and is turned into ashes. |
