Show Literary Club planning 80th birthday party The Woman's Literary Club of Moab met Monday, Mon-day, March 6, 7:30 p.m, in the Senior Citizens' Center. Cen-ter. Plans were announced for the 80th birthday party to be held March 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the center with Miller's catering the banquet. Members may invite husbands or other guests, but reservations must be in to Palma Jacobs by March 15. An announcement on the progress of the Civic Improvement Committee was given by Juanita Wiseman. It consisted of forming a community council to act as a steering committee in any fund raising the club might do for the Senior Citizens Building fund. Mrs. Wiseman Wise-man also announced that letters had been sent out to Governor Matheson, Senators Hatch and Garn, and Representatives McKay Mc-Kay and Marriot to ask for any information on grants and loans. Letters were also mailed to all clubs and organizations in Moab to ask for their assistance. Ann Pool announced tentative plans for the board meeting of the Eastern District to be held on March 25. Hildur Unger, chairman of the education committee commit-tee showed award-winning posters made by the art classes of the schools for the club's anti-littering campaign. These posters and other entries will be on display around town within the next week and Moabites are urged to take notice of them, she said. President Jen Pope urged all members to take note of club projects and participate. She also announced an-nounced the nominating committee members are Juanita Mayberry, Madge Warde, and Pearl Taylor. |
