Show Parent survival coursef was very beneficial Parents who have just finished a series of parent survival workshops feel the experience was a beneficial one and that both their own and their children's behavior has improved as a result of what they learned. The five 2-hour workshops work-shops sponsored by the Title I Parent Advisory Committee and Four Corners Mental Health, involved 25 parents. At the start of the workshops the parents were asked what they hoped to accomplish. ac-complish. Three answers were given most often: understanding their children child-ren better; improving communications; and coping better with children's child-ren's problems. Did the workshops help? At the conclusion parents were emphatic in their answer: Yes! This was supported by pre and post-workshop surveys asking how the parents felt about their children's behavior and their own behavior. Parents were asked to rate their children and themselves on a behavior scale of 1 to 10, where a score of 1 indicated very unsatisfactory behavior and 10 indicated va satisfactory behavior.
