Show Red Cross drive begins in Grand March 13 through Mar. 27 will be Grand Co. Red Cross Drive days in order to secure funds to continue contin-ue valuable programs conducted con-ducted locally by the Red Cross. Alpha Upsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority has volunteered to conduct con-duct the canvass for the funds. The Red Cross blood program has always been widely accepted and donors don-ors in Grand County have always been most generous. gener-ous. The local quota consistently con-sistently meets national needs set up by the amount am-ount of blood used by the county. All the blood donated, with the exception of e-mergency e-mergency donations requested re-quested by Allen Memorial Memor-ial Hospital, must be processed pro-cessed at a cost of about $50 per pint for distribution distribu-tion and use throughout the state. All blood used by Grand County must be secured through the Red Cros3 Blood Mobile Program, Pro-gram, and it must be replaced by residents of the county. The Blood Mobile will be in Moab May 2, in Green River May 1, Mon- . ticello, May 3 and in Blanding on May 4. The Beta Eta chapter of Epsi-lon Epsi-lon Sigma Alpha will be in charge of the Blood Mobile. Mo-bile. According to local chapter chap-ter chairman Vera Osmond, Os-mond, Grand Co. has remained active in many phases of Red Cross assistance, assis-tance, besides the blood program.
