Show Moab girls took sixth in tourney play By Wea Key The Moab Red Devils girls basketball team traveled trav-eled to Snow College last Thursday for the state 2A girls basketball tournament. tourna-ment. "The Moab girls did a good job," stated Coach Lynn Allen. The Moab girls faced the Richfield Wildcats for their first game and came out with their first loss. Then they met Wasatch and played well with Lori McCurdy leading the way with 15 points, followed by Judy Martinez with 13 points. This put Moab into a play-off with the Delta Rabbits for fourth or sixth place. The Moab girls lost by a score of 31 to 21 to give them sixth place in the state tournament. Placing in the state tournament went as follows: fol-lows: Lehi captured first place, followed by Emery, Richfield, Delta, Inter-mountain, Inter-mountain, and Moab in sixth. The Devil girls left the season with six wins and eight losses. |
