Show i Elgin question discussed ! by County Commission j Ken Silliman met with the Grand j County Commission Monday to I discuss problems involved in Green I River City's annexation of the Elgin Water and Sewer District into the I city. I He was told that Emery County J will have to pay to have property j descriptions drawn up, so that the I Grand County Assessor can make the appropriate changes in the tax j rolls. I In other business, Silliman re- I quested that Grand County up- grade the Elgin road up the Green ' River. j Randall Rainey and Dave Ruck- man appeared to ask that they be allowed to split their 5-acre tract in j All American Acres, Spanish Val-I Val-I ley, to build a home on each half. I Approval for this had been received J from the Planning Commission, ! and the county commissioners also I approved. Commissioners signed an Inter- j Local Cooperative Agreement with I Carbon and Emery counties and the I Association of Governments which J provides that the district nutrition J program for senior citizens in the three counties be administered by the AOG. j Adrien Taylor appeared on be- I half of the Hospital Board and I discussed various options regard- ing establishment of a proposed Special Service District for the hospital. She said it appears that if Green River and northern San Juan County are included it is going to take quite a bit longer to get it established. Commissioners said they feel these areas should be included since residents use Allen Memorial Hospital as their primary source of intensive and emergency health care. It was suggested that the Green River City Council be approached ap-proached in the near future to learn the feelings of residents about inclusion in a special service district. dis-trict. In the case of the residents of northern San Juan, that county commission would be consulted before any further move is made. Jim Carroll requested use of the cement pad and tie down area at the old airport in Spanish Valley for a local model radio airplane flying club. Commissioners said they will contact Blaine Stevens to see if the drag racers have any objections before making a decision. It was voted to accept Nelson's Heating and Refrigeration bid of $9,799.61 for installing 2 refrigerated refriger-ated air conditioners for upstairs in the courthouse. It was also voted to lease a 760 copier from Office Equipment Company. |
