Show LARGE CROWD AT CONCERT Termed by muic lovers as one of the best entertainments of its kind ever given in Springville, the Arphonians, Ggden's communitv ladies chorus under the direction of Mark Robinson, presented a concert here Saturday night. The entertainment was attended by approximately 300 local and out-of-town people. Noted among the latter was Dr. Florence Jepperson Madsen, famed Utah composer whose "The Gypsy Fortune Teller" rendered by te chorus called for much favorable comment and applause, and who expressed her appreciation and enjoyment en-joyment of the entertainment. While some of the best talent available in the state was heard during the evening, much credit ip ;ilso given to their director Mark Robinson, who was given a hearty welcome back to Springville Spring-ville by his many friends and former for-mer students, during the evening. The program was sponsored by the ladies of the Konle Culture ,club of which Mrs. G. L. Barron president. Their appreciation is expressed to the people of the community for their cooperation in support of the fine entertainment entertain-ment the proceeds ' from which will be added to the art fund. Elmo Coffman, well known musician mu-sician of Springville, announced the program and in introducing Mr. Robinson, paid fine tributes to his success as .1 music instructor instruc-tor and leader in this community. Immediately after the concert the musicians were entertained, at a luncheon given by the club ladies and were later taken to the art galleries to view the picture in the current exhibit. jf |
