Elmo Curtis, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Curtis of Mapeton which took pace Wednesday Wed-nesday in the Salt Lake temple. In 'honor of the young couple a wedding reception was held in the First ward amusement hall, Friday Fri-day night; with nearly 300 relatives rela-tives and friends in attendance. The bride appeared lovely in a pale blue silk crepe. Her bridal bouquet was pink rose buds, her bridesmaids, brides-maids, Miss Zelma Thorpe, Miss Lelma Graves and Miss Gladys West were attractively dressed in pastel shades. Mr. and Mrs. Graves and Mr. and Mrs. Curtis were , in the receiving line. The entertainment for the evening included in-cluded dancing, a program and refreshments. re-freshments. The young couple received re-ceived many lovely wedding gifts during the evening. 'I - JMm " : : Among the nicely arranged social so-cial events of the early week was a tea given by Miss Gerakline Eggerlson at her home on the afternoon of Easter Sunday, complimentary com-plimentary to Miss Lenore Condie, a bride of early Arril. The entertaining enter-taining rooms were prettily decorated dec-orated with daffodils aaid Easter lilies, the same motifs being iboed on the dining table to carry out an Easter decorative color scheme. Members of the Val Norn social unit of the B. Y. U- of which Miss Condie was a former member, assisted as-sisted Miss Eggertson with the serving. An enjoyable program was given during the afternoon with instrumental music by the Misses Carol and Aleen Condie and Miss lone Averett; vocal solos by Miss Helen Palfreyman and Blaine Johnson of Spanish Fork. The tea was attended by about 50 friends and relatives, many coming from Provo, Salt Lake City and Spanish Fork. Miss Condie left Monday for Los Angeles, An-geles, California, where she plans to be married April 4. Daughters of Utah Pioneers camp Aaron Johnson are planning to hold their April meeting at the art gallery where a talk on ', the pictures will be given. The meeting meet-ing is scheduled for April 14, at 2 p. m., and all members are urged to be present. Miss Edna Gee of Fayette, Miss Eva Bunnell and Miss Maxine An-yreason An-yreason of Vineyard, were guests of Miss Leola Harrington during the Easter holidays.. The visitors with Miss Harrington and the Misses Beth and Helen Evans en-'joyed en-'joyed a long hike on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Roylance entertained at an Easter dinner Sunday complimentary to Mrs. Jennie Schwartz who is visiting here from Kentucky and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas L. Schwartz. Mrs. E. A. Strong and children., Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Gabbitis and family. Mrs. Rheuamia Weight has returned re-turned to her home here after spending a short time with her 'daughter, Mrs. Harold Johnson and family at Cedar City. Members of the Ave Delma Bridge club entertained at an Easter party for their husbands Saturday evening. A delicious hot supper was served early at the Mission cafe and later the members mem-bers and guests assembled at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Aden where cards were enjoyed. Boyer on his seventieth seven-tieth birthday anniversary, was enjoyed by 39 members of the family at the home of Mr. ' and 'Mrs. Edward H. Boyer on Sunday. A daughter of the honored guest, Mrs. Joseph Jarvis and family-residing family-residing at Mesa, Arizona, sent birthday greetings to Mr. Boyer ! which were read during the afternoon. after-noon. Barron and family in this city. 'Mrs. Thelma Cherrington was hostess to members of the Old Frienas club at her home on Friday Fri-day evening. Br.ge prizes were won at the party by Mrs. Ila 'Cranmer and Mrs. Merle Robertson, Robert-son, members and Mrs. Fern Lee, 1 a guest. A delicious luncheon preceded pre-ceded the games. The rooms and .table decorations were suggestive -of Easter. An enjoyable and nicely arranged arrang-ed social of the week was given Thursday when Mrs. Milton Harrison Harri-son entertained at dinner at her home in honor of Mrs. B. F. Krause of Salt Lake City, who will leave with Sergeant Krause next month to reside in Manila, Phillipine islands. The guests at the dinner in addition to Mrs. Krause, were Mrs. G. W. Harrison, Mrs. Hazel Hiirrison, Mrs. Glenn Hollcy o( Mapleton, Mrs. Thomas Carter, and Mrs. George Measom. Missionary Program Plans are underway for a missionary mis-sionary program and dance to be given Wednesday, March 31, at the Fourth ward chapel. In honor of her daughter Phyllis whose birthtiay was Sunday, Mrs. Mary Smart entertained at a well arranged dinner at their home for a number of friends. Easter decorations decor-ations formed an attractive centerpiece cen-terpiece and covers were laid for Miss VenTce Whiting, Miss Beth 'Mendenhall, Miss Mddred Parry, Miss Elaine Brockbank, Miss 'Dama Grant, Miss Elaine Nielson, Miss Velma Olsen and Mr. and Mrs. Kay Johnson. In honor of Miss Edna Gee who is visiting here from Fayette, the Misses Beth and Helen Evans entertained at a party in the form of a candy pull at their home Monday Mon-day night. Present were 'Miss 'Marie Sumsioii, Miss Lucille' Sum-sion, Sum-sion, Miss Ora Bartholomew, 'Miss Leola Harrington, the honor guest and the hostesses. Among the delightful parties of the past week was one given by the Builders swarm of the Third ward Bee Hive class in honor of ' their mothers. A program consisting consist-ing of a one-act play called "Friendship," together with short talks and musical numbers, were enjoyed by all. In conclusion a nicely arranged basket luncheon was served. ' Representatives from the Alpha Beta, Home Culture, Mothers' Study and the Ladies' Literary club, attended the convention of Women's clubs at Payson Saturday. Sat-urday. Mrs. M. R. Straw gave a paper on, "International Relations" Rela-tions" and Mrs. Harold Christensen Christen-sen on the "Art Project," during the convention. Mrs. M. W. Bird left recently to visit her daughter, Mrs. Mary Huish and family at Oakland California. An enjoyable afternoon was spent Thursday when members of the Busy Finger club were entertained enter-tained at the home of Mrs. Olive Porter.'
