Show Personnel Changes at PCPD Local resident Lloyd Evans has been appointed to the Park City Police Department, replacing James Allen, who will assume the newly created position of Crime Prevention Officer. Both men will assume their new posts April 1. According to Police Chief Garth Wilkinson, the new crime prevention preven-tion officer, funded through a recently acquired federal grant, will have various duties aimed at lowering the local crime rate. Allen, a two year member of the force, will attempt to organize "neighborhood watches" to speed up reporting of crimes, and will be available to do security surveys of homes and businesses. Following the surveys, the officer will recommend what types of locks should be obtained and what other measures can be taken to prevent break-ins. A "first order of business" for the officer, said Wilkinson, will be to contact all businesses in town and get a list of who should be contacted in case ot an emergency. Evans, 25, is married, has two children and is a graduate of Park City high school. Although he has no police experience, he is a trained Emergency Medical Technician, works with the city ambulance crew and is a member of the volunteer fire department. |
