Show . . j ; l "The Royal Family" Opening Soon at PMT actressdirectorteacher, plays the rold of Julie Cavendish, the daughter who is at the crest of her career as a Broadway star. Hyde Clayton, active in local theatre for over thirty years and currently engaged in film work, plays Oscar Wolfe, the theatrical agent for the Cavendish family. Roy Gibson, former television News Director for Channel 4 and current television personality and Professor Profes-sor of Communication at the U of U, plays Herbert Dean. He is Fanny's brother, a pompous . player now in his decline. Charlene Bletson, actressdirectorteacher, actressdirec-torteacher, has interrupted her leave of absence from the University of Utah to play the role of Delia in this production. Others in the cast include: Carolyn Braza, Kim Christison, Ronald D. Cordova, Dan DeNiro, Douglas Garland, Kevin W. Harrison, Barbara Howard, Gregory Justice, Jus-tice, Robyn Russell and Ron Van Woerden. Robert Hyde Wilson, Senior Director for Pioneer Memorial Theatre, is directing this production. produc-tion. Robert Hawkes is the Set Designer and Paula Iasella is Costume Designer. Lighting is by Peter Willardson. The Royal Family opens Thursday, Thurs-day, March 30th and will play every night (except Sunday) through April 15, 1978. Performances Perform-ances are at 8:00 p.m. and amatinee performance will be held Saturday, April 8, at 2:00 p.m. The Royal Family, by George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber, will play at Pioneer Memorial Theatre in Salt Lake City March 30th through April 15th, 1978. This play was first presented in New York in 1927. It was a great success perhaps due to the witty dialogue, the wild situations it presents, the wonderful and warm people it represented, maybe because it had something definate to say about tradition, and freedom of choice. Whatever it had to say, then, it is still appropos today as was reconized when it was revived to a highly acclaimed and successful run on Broadway in 1975. Leora Dana returns to Pioneer Memorial Theatre from New York to play Fanny Cavendish, the matriarch of the Cavendish Clan. Ms. Dana is an acclaimed Broadway actress who has also done extensive work in films and television. Her interest in developing devel-oping regional threatre has taken her to almost every state as well as abroad and originally brought hr to PMT. She first appeared here in 1963 in Look Homeward Angel and returnedin 1967 to play in The Visit and Wake Up, Old Man. This will be her fourth appearance on Lees Main Stage and she is warmly welcomed by her fans and friends in Utah. Max Robinson will play Tony Cavendish, the son who has forsaken the stage for Hollywood, ' only to return home, flee to Europe and return again to home and the stage. Mr. Robinson is a former student of the U of U Theatre Department who returned return-ed to Utah after numerous appearances on the West Coast to play this season in The Misanthrope Misanth-rope and A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum.
