Reed Jensen hopped off for the Southern Canyons to see their splendor. Carolyn Day spent a week up at the Homestead really having herself a time swimming ;and flirting with the lifeguards. A'ee Drienne Horman spent the last of the summer months at Carmel by the Sea and really en-joyed herself. Russ Davey had fun fishing at Yellowstone Park. Well, kids, be good and do your homework even if you don't want to, because we all have to do alot of things we don't want to do. Bye now, Lynne sic. Sherie and Connie played a duet called "Danse Macabre." It's a story about how at twelve o'clock all the skeletons in the graveyard wake up and start to dance. They dance all night until the rooster crows at six o'clock in the morning, then they go back to the graveyard again until another night. As Sherie and Connie played I could see skeletons dancing to that music. I'm really ashamed of myself, I've lived in Utah all my life and I'd never seen Bingham Copper Mines until just a week ago. Our family went to Bingham and it's really a treat and a thrill for the whole family. When we got to the observation point tne v'iew was just breathtaking. There were ab-out thirty levels that started from an area about as big as a foot-ball field and they branched all the way up until it was just en-ormous. We went through a tunnel to Copperfield . where there were lots of copper and other kinds of souvenirs to buy. - On Labor Day we had a real exciting time. I'm sure lots of other people did, too. We went to Mirror Lake in Wasatch National Forest. It was a beautiful, sun-shiny day. There were just loads of people there trying to get in some last minute fishing or just loafing around. We bumped intc our neighbors, the Miller Days, and put our lunches together by the lake for more fun. One person we saw was an artist and she was painting her thoughts on a can-vas. Mirror Lake rightly deserved its name;; the mountains and the trees look into their looking glass everyday and see their lovely re-flections. Here we are starting on the road of education again. Sometimes it gets pretty rough, but most of the time it's paved and marked for us. I was having myself an er fling the week before last. The first thing I did was drive (full of confidence) down to the fairgrounds to take my Driver's Test and I got my Dr-iver's License. One outstanding thing I really enjoyed in a crammed full week was a piano recital. Three darling sisters, Sherie, Connie and Carol Dawn Howell were the pianists.
