Show HURRICANE HURRICANE, Feb. 18. The honor hon-or roll for the Hurricane high school is as follows: First year, Leda Ballard, Louis Naegle and Hilma Beatty. Second year, Lorraine Lor-raine Heaton, Marie Hall, and Irene Neilson. Third year, Orville Isom, Deward Spendlove, Velda Beames and Nola Isom. Fourth year, Melvin Hall, Genevieve Heaton Hea-ton and Fern Imlay. ' The chamber of commerce has sent a delegation to Salt Lake City to meet with the appropriation committee of the state legislature to secure funds for an experimental experimen-tal farm at Hurricane. Those making mak-ing the trip included: Chauncey Sandberg, Dr. H. B. Gibson and James Jepson, Stake quarterly conference V.' be held here Saturday and Sunday. Sun-day. Word has been received by President Claud Hirschi that speakers from Salt Lake City will be in attendance. The names of Helen Papworth, Margaret Webb, Maurine Sullivan and Fern Imlay have been entered by the various classes in the popularity pop-ularity contest at the Hurricane high school. Candidates for popular popu-lar boy are Leon Duffin, Paul Wilson, Leland Gregerson and Grant Wright. Milton Moody, county school superintendent, su-perintendent, is here visiting the schools today. Hurricane district will hold the divisional spelling match at To-querville To-querville February 20. Gladon Dalton, 13, son of Mr. and Mrs .Harvey Dalton, was rushed to Cedar City for medical attention Tuesday. He was injured in-jured in a scuffle, receiving a blow in the eye. Tuesday his sight left him entirely. |
