ILL BE ORGANIZED All Ladies of St. George Are Requested to Meet at the Dixie College Building on Friday Afternoon at 4 A meeting of the ladies' auxiliary committee appointed at the annual an-nual banquet and reorganization of the chamber of commerce, was held at the home of Mrs. W. W. Cannon Friday afternoon and subcommittees sub-committees appointed and a temporal? tem-poral? organization formed. Mrs. Cannon was chosen chairman and Mrs. Nelle Stauffer temporary secretary. sec-retary. The committee of nine appointed ap-pointed by the president of the chamber of commerce is composed of Mrs. W. W. Cannon, Mrs. Jos. S. Snow, Mrs. C. W. Love, Mrs. Bertha McGregor, Mrs. Nelle Stauffer, Mrs. W. J. Reichmann, Mrs. W. O. Bentley, Mrs. Gordon Mathis and Mrs. D. C. Watson. A membership committee composed com-posed of Mrs. Stauffer, chairwoman, chairwom-an, Mrs. Mathis and Mrs. Reichmann, Reich-mann, has sent the following letter let-ter to four hundred St. George women asking that they attend a meeting Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the college .building at which time a permanent organization organiza-tion will be perfected: "In accordance with the wish of the chamber of commerce of St. George that a Ladies' Auxiliary Aux-iliary to that organization be formed for the furtherance of civic projects in the city, a committee com-mittee appointed a draft plans for the organization have called call-ed a meeting of the ladies of St. George for Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock in the college building to perfect an auxiliary organization, organ-ization, elect officers and map a program of work. "We want every lady in St. George to be present and have a voice in the proceedings. . "There are many problems and projects such as a city park, a beautification program for the city, and sanitation improvement, im-provement, that call for our attention, at-tention, and only through organized or-ganized effort may we obtain the uniform results desired. "May we count on you to cooperate co-operate with us by attending the meeting Friday at 4 p. m. in the college building?" I A committee composed of Mrs. ' Cannon, Mrs. McGregor and Mrs. : Watson was appointed to draft by- laws and a constitution. The committees will meeting this afternoon af-ternoon to make reports. There are a number of important impor-tant civic projects that can be effectively put over by a ladies' auxiliary to the commercial club. These include sanitary problems and elimination of flies, an adequate ade-quate hospital, planting of shade trees, a public park, and beautification beauti-fication of civic and private property. Although nearly four hundred invitations were sent out to attend at-tend tomorrow's meeting, some may have been .overlooked, and regardless of whether an invita-l invita-l tion was received or not, each t lady of the town is requested to attend the meeting. |
