Show BRIGHAM JUSTICE IS TURNED DOWN Brigham City, Jan 15 The city council met last evening and Mavor William T. Davis submitted his list of appointments for various city offices All the recommendations for appointment appoint-ment were ratified with the exception excep-tion of the mayor's appointee for justice of the peace. Justice C. O. Christensen was named for reappointment, reappoint-ment, but the council remained "mum" until the mayor asked for a contrary vote, which was unanimously unanimous-ly "no." There were no comments made and the council resumed its consideration of other appointees Christensen was nominated in the non-partisan convention for Justice of the peace, but as the law waB chang ed making this office an appointive one. the matter was up to the mayor. The other officers named are as follows: Marshal, Joseph H. Lily-white; Lily-white; deputy marshal, Hyrum 8 lensen; night patrolmen, Charles Cheal and Heber Smith, Jr.; board of health, Dr R. A. Pearse, C. W Mer-rell Mer-rell and Peter Knudson, road supervisor, super-visor, Christen Christensen; superintendent superin-tendent of waterworks, Leo Woodruff; Wood-ruff; attorney, William E. Davis; dog tax collector, James C. Jensen; sexton, sex-ton, Carl Jeppson; building inspector, Wrarren S. Taylor; clock tender, W S. Taylor; city engineer, Professor C, O. Roskelly; park tender, J, O.
