Show H C. BAKER PUNS TO START WORK Brigham City, Jan. 15 Develop ment work is soon to be resumed on the raining property of H C. Baker north of this city, according to Mr. Baker, who spent yesterday in this City. The Mineral Ridge Mining company has been formed to take over the property of Mr Baker. The company, with a capitalization of $50.-000, $50.-000, is headed by Mr Baker as pres ident and general manager; A. A Miller, Mil-ler, also of Ogden. Is vice president, Mr. Flowers, treasurer, and A. J. Fyhn of this city . secretary. These, with S W Badcon of Ogden, form the directorate. di-rectorate. The property has never been abandoned, aban-doned, but has been worked more or less for many years. Shafts have been sunk and tunnels to run the extent ex-tent of several thousand feet, and It Is said that there is a great deal ot pay dirt on the dump The mining property is fully equipped with buildings, build-ings, a tramway extending from near the top of the mountains to the foot, where a concentrating plant was erected, but apparently never put In to use. Mr. Baker has worked ceaselessly in developing this property, and It was while he was so engaged that he discovered the value of the barrens lying north of this city, and upou which there is now a large cement-plant cement-plant in operation turning the barrens bar-rens into a high-grade cement at the rate of 500 barrels daily. H. ( Baker Ba-ker was the promoter of the cement industry. He claims that the ore in his prop erty carries a large percentage of gold, silver and lead. The company expects to be ready to ship ore early in the spring, and already arrange ments have been made with the United Uni-ted States. Smelting company to handle the ore from this mine. With the tramway in working order, the ore will be "within easy reach of the Oregon Short Line railroad, being within half a mile of the foot of the mountains or the lower terminus of the tramway. |
