Show Big Celebration Arranged for My 24th July 24tlv next Monday,, wilt bo properly celebrated in American Fork, and on that day homage-will : be paid tile- pioneers for whom the ' day has been, set apart - The odebratiott will commence ' at. daybreak and continue into the evening. Following is the outline of' the day's events. Salutes at. daybreak Under direction; di-rection; of American Legion, with Commander J. J. Mercer, Jr.,. in charge. All early American Fork Pioneers Pion-eers are to occupy a place of honor on the stand, and are urged to be present. 11:30 a. m. Children's races and Candy Shower. 1:30 p. m. Baseball Game Lehi vs. American Fork. Tug-O'-Warat Ball Grounds Captain of East side team Albert Birk; Captain ol West side team Jed Mercer; prizes priz-es for winning side. 7:30-8:30 p. m. Musical concert and program at Tabernacle steps, under direction of Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Music by Tab and Buns Americans. Vocal solo Miss Mildred Chip-man. Chip-man. Selections High School male Vocal solo Mrs. W. R. Halliday. Pioneer dances Mrs. Ann Hug-gard Hug-gard and others. 8:30 p. m. Fireworks display at city park lawn, under direction of American Fork Firemen. From the above outlined program it can be seen that American Fork's people can enjoy the day at home, with sports and events for botlt young and old. The general committee in charge of the celebration was appointed by Mayor Anderson and consists of Jed Mercer, Commander of the American Legion; Clarence A. Grant, of the stake M. I. A. recreational recre-ational department; Lonard S. Pett, Moral D. Steele and W. S. Storra of the city officers. The sub-committees pre headed i by Mrs. Elizabeth McAllister and j Mrs. Eleanor Nieholes, representing; the Daughters, of Utah Pioneers; Clair Christensen, head of tho flag raising exercises; Chief I. L. Pratt and his firemen to bo in ohargQ, 0f ithe fireworks in the evening. There will also be the usual picture pic-ture shows at the Cameo TVfttro' in the afternoon and evening. Both the Geneva and Saratoga resorts haVO announced htg CallCCS at nUihij with Tab and Buns American's Amer-ican's al Geneva, and the Greater Mfilodians at Saratoga. The resorts fllfio have arranged .spoils for the daytime. |
