Show New Recruits Added to Camp F-5 ALEX G. ADAMSON Camp Correspondent. Seventy five experienced men reported re-ported to Camp F-5, American Fork canyon on Thursday. With the arrival ar-rival of these men the quota of two hundred men alloted has been filled. fill-ed. The new recruits are all from Salt Lake county. Four new squads have been formed and the older squads have had more added to them. To take care of these new men, new leaders and assistant lead-1 ers have been appointed. Vernj Hanni, Bryant Hicks and Eugene Outlawn have been promoted from Assistant Leaders to Leaders and Oran J. Richmond is also appointed Leader. New Assistant Leaders are: Vem L. Haliiday, Elmo Hunter, Maurice W. Kelly, Joseph S. Mc-Conkie, Mc-Conkie, Alvin Thayne, Chase Tolton, LeGrande Valarida, Harry D. Wells and Henry H. Woodruff. Thursday evening a dance was held at camp with visitors from Orem, Lindon, Lincoln and Alpine coming as guests. Trucks were sent to these towns to provide transportation transpor-tation to and from camp. Music was furnished by an orchestra composed of members of the camp. Saturday night a program was furnished by Camp F-5 at Mutual Dell. The program was ini charge of the camp recreation committee. Mr. W. O. Stephens, camp forestry supervisor, was the speaker. In an overtime game played Thursday Thurs-day afternoon, Camp F-5, won from a team from American Fork by a score of 8 to 7. Play was close and exciting, with the foresters coming from behind to tie the score and eventually win. |
