Show dedicated by Joseph E. Hepworth of Bountiful. The services were well attended and the esteem in which the family was held was portrayed by the profusion pro-fusion of flowers. Meningitis Claims Chas. E. Hayward Charles E. Hayward, 68, a resident resi-dent of this city since last April, passed away at the family residence resi-dence here Wednesday night of meninigitis. Mr. Hayward had not enjoyed good health for the past two months, and Monday became seriously ill. He was born in Salt Lake, a son of Gammon and Sarah Hayward. He engaged in the truck gardening business in Bountiful and later was in the mattress and upholstering business in Spanish Fork. The family moved to American Fork last spring. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Anice Hepworth Hayward, five daughters: Mrs. Jesse L. Cook, Syracuse; Sy-racuse; Mrs. Blwyn Wride, Ida, and Louise Hayward, American Fork, and Mrs. Byron Nelson, Spanish Fork; seven sons, Frank H. and Ray H. Hayward, Salt Lake; Bryan Bry-an Hayward, Bountiful; Fred H. Hayward, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Sidney Sid-ney H. Hayward, Spanish Fork; tt onrf T.lovd H. Hayward, American Fork; five brothers and sisters, Mrs. Clara M. Porter, Kezia, Arthur and Ernest Hayward, Chula Vista, California, and 14 grandchildren. grand-children. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon to the Second ward chapel, with Bishop Joseph H. Storrs in charge. A vocal solo "O 'My Father" was rendered by Rulon ! Nieholes, accompanied by Miss Nina 'Halliday, and the invocation was offered of-fered by David! Davis of Spanish Fork. President S. L. Chipman was the first speaker, and he also read a sketch of the life of the deceased Following his remarks Ida Hepworth of Salt Lake sang "Far Away", accompanied ac-companied by Clyde White on the cornet, and Amelia White, piano Bishop Storrs then spoke, and the ! closing musical number was a vocal duet "Beyond the Veil" by Mrs. Hazel Walker and Mrs. Myrtle Houston, Hous-ton, accompanied by Miss Nma Halliday. The benediction was pro-, nounced by Peter Hepworth of Salt Lake. Interment was made in the Bountiful Boun-tiful cemetery where the grave was i |
