Show RADIO SPECIALISTS NEEDED BY MARINE CORPS An exceptional opportunity is offered to radio specialists between the ages of 17 and 36 inclusive. Any person who holds or has held an Amateur Radio Operator's License, Clase A or B, or a Commercial Com-mercial Radio Telegraph or Radio Rad-io Telephone Operator's License, 1st or 2nd class, is eligible for one of two groups now being enlisted en-listed by all recruiting stations of the United States Marine Corps In addition to men who have engaged in actual repair or service ser-vice of radio equipment for a period per-iod of at least three months or who have had experience in connection con-nection with design or construction construc-tion of high frequency or ultra high frequency transmitting or receiving equipment may also qualify for enlistment in these special groups. The first group will be enlisted in the Marine Corps reserves as staff sergeants and their contract of enlistment will carry a stat-ment stat-ment signed by the applicant as follows: "It is understood by me that should I fail to qualify in school. I will be discharged from the Marine Corps Reserve -r, at my request, I shall be retained in the service for other duty at appropiate rank." Men in this group must bs high school graduates, and will be appointed ap-pointed staff sargeants J( special warrant) and transferred to a signal battalion for a course of training in Radio Aircraft Warning Warn-ing maintenance. Recruit training train-ing is waived for all men in this special class of reserve. Men who are not graduates of high school but who hold or have held the above mentioned licenses and who have been engaged in actual repair service of radio equipment for a period of at least three months may qualify for enlistment en-listment in either the regular Marine Corps or the Marine Corps Reserve for general radio duties, and, on completion of regular recruit re-cruit training, will be ordered to radio school at either Quantico or San Diego. Those who fail to qualify in school will be retained in the service for general duty. Men in this group will not he entitled en-titled to appointment to rank upon up-on enlistment. The regular qualifications necessary nec-essary to enter the Corps apply to all applicants in both of these groups, but waivers may be requested re-quested for men who are specially qualified. Employer statements, letters of recommendation and investigations investi-gations of past activities will be used by recruiting officers in determining de-termining an applicant's qualifications. quali-fications.
