Show ) Bowling News At the end of the third week of the ladies' Round Robin Ed.th Olsen is leading the field. Amy McC'arty has the highest scratch score, and Vi Johnson rolled 809 at the Southeast for the highest handicap series of the tourniment her 221 game was tied by Evelyn Worthen at the K-B ant Madge Carton rolled 209 at the Ritz. A very successful handicap tourney was held at the Southeast last week-end. Interest in the unusually un-usually large prizes caused many ' bowlerg to enter a number of times, and it took high scores to win. Harry Dallin took first place with 908 for four games, Jack Donnelly was second with 902, third place went to Chick Lloyd, 889, fourth, Steele of Park City, and fifth, Ed Givant. Last weeks Sugar House Major Maj-or league was paced by Sugar House Coal, rolling a 2813 series and 975 game. Bill Ward of the I opposing Sugar Bowl team had a nice 648 for high individual series, ser-ies, and Ingram of Red Crown rolled 245 for high game. V. Johnson bowled a neat 636 for Fashion Cleaners. In the Forest League last week Locust and Elm were the teams winning 4 points. With Lulu Parry's Par-ry's 482 series, including a mce 197 game, Locust rolled 2149 for high series but Pine had a high game of 769. More consistently fine bowiing in the Southside league brought forth a 1063 game for Dee's Hamburger, Ham-burger, a 2944 series for Barnett and Weiss, and Hugo Ensign as high individual with a 671 series and 245 game. Marv Cleverly with 626, and Jim Barney with x 633 were high among six other 600 series. Holsom Bakers have now reached the top of the Southeast league by taking 3 points from Caldwell's Market; last Wednesday Wednes-day while Birrell's postponed their game with Morley's. Bob Erickson with 607 led Holsum to 2714 high series and Foto Art had 970 for high game. F. Neslein of Mecca Bar rolled Z41 for high single game, and the only team winning 4 points wag Local 57. The Lumbermen went to a convention con-vention last week, so the ladies Cardinal league had Friday night alone. Southeast Courts team make a clean sweep of the high scores beginning with Helen Wise's high 195 game and 514 series, and ending with a team game of 796 and a 2218 ' series. Team standings remained same, since Bowers and the Utah Clinic each won only 1 point. To begin this week Sugar House Merc had 2810 for high series and 964 for game to win 4 points in the Sugar House Major league. Ash Cox was in the groove with a nice 639 series while Chick Evans rolled 233 for the session's high game. |
