Show Road Improvement Plans Announced By J. V. McLea, GOP County Chairman Considerable road improvement improve-ment in the Duchesne county area for the near future is announced an-nounced by J. V. McLea, county Republican party chairman, after af-ter a recent talk with State Road Commissioner Max'field. A mile stretch of new road, one-half mile west of Myton, which will begin where Highway High-way 40 starts to angle north of Myton and continue in an approximately ap-proximately straight direction until it again joins original Highway 40 west of Myton, will shortly be under construction. A contractor is expected to set up headquarters in the Myton area this week. Mr. McLea said he had been assured by Commissioner Max-field Max-field that the cut at the top of Deep Creek will definitely be finished by fall, but that improvement im-provement of Duchesne's Main street will be subject to a slight delay. However, he said, postponement post-ponement of the latter project will be oiny temporary. Hard-surfacing of the Altonah-Bridgeland Altonah-Bridgeland road was placed Monday before the Bureau of Roads. Work here will probably start after 70 days, allowing time for federal approval of the road, advertisements for bids, and work preparation for the contractor. |
