Show Riding Club, MIA Slate Programs The programs for the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Riding club's July 24-25 rodeo, held in collaboration with the Stake M.I.A., and the M.I.A.'s July 24 celebration were announced this week. The rodeo will get underway both days at 6 p. m. with a parade par-ade down Main street by Father Fath-er Joseph Hogben's Indian posse and rodeo performers, followed at 6:30 by rodeo events which will include: CALF ROPING, Junior division, divi-sion, $1 entrance fee, $5 purse, cut of entrance fees; senior division, di-vision, entrance fee, $5, with purses of $50, $30, and $20, for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. BRONC RIDING, no entrance fee, purse $18, $13.50, and $8.50. BARE BACK RIDING, no entrance fee, purse, $15, $10, $5. TEAM ROPING, $5 entrance fee, $40 $25, $10 purse. WILD COW MILKING, $2.00 entrance fee $10, $5, $2.50 purse. NOVELTY RACES, $5 purse for first place winner. Indian dances will also be featured. A $500 roping contest will be held both nights between the Roosevelt, Neola, and Vernal riding clubs. The club with the best two-night average will win the total purse. The Stake M.I.A. has a miniature min-iature parade planned for 10 a. m.,.July 24, with a patriotic program to follow at 11 a. m. at city park; concessions will open at 12 noon; children's game and softball games, 1 p. m.; children's dance and fish pond, 3 p. m.; and a tennis court dance, 9 p. m. M.I.A. proceeds from their program and share of the rodeo will go toward financing the Union high seminary building. |
