Show MORE7 AND MORE Bryce Tourism Still On Upswing Bryce Canyon National Park again shows a substantial gain of 18 percent for June 1963 over June 1962. This increase follows an increase of 38 percent for May 1963, and indicates the greatest travel in the history of the Park. " So far this year, there have been 125,634 visitors at Bryce Canyon as compf id with 103,579 for the same period of 1962. The number of campers which showed a 125 percent increase for May has leveled off with about the same number of campers for June. Attendance at the park visitor center has increased 6,500 persons for June with equally substantial increases in the number of visitors participating in naturalist talks and the guided tours on canyon trails. For the four day Fourth of July weekend, park travel again exceeded any previous figures. 3,197 vehicles entered the park during the weekend which is nearly 12 percent greater than the four day holt-day in 1961. The holiday ended with a perfect record of no accidents, injuries or fires. |
