Show ELECTION LAWS Tersely Tabulated For Ready Reference Consistent with its desire to serve its readers, the NEWS begins, with this issue, a series of condensed articles touching the election laws of Utah. Each week these articles will be continued uutil all information affecting affect-ing Beaver County voters is sot forth. Particularly will this information be of service to those newcomers to the county who have riot, as yet, had opportunity to become informed on these important matters. , Qualifications of Voters United States citizenship for at least ninety days prior to date of election. At least twenty-one years of age. Residency in State of Utah for one year; in county, four months; in voting precinct, sixty days prior to election. Registration, as per regulations hereinafter enumerated. Registration A registration accent, is provided for each district. Names of these agents will appear in these columns during the course of the publications. Notice of time and place; Each registry agent must post, in not less than five conspicuous places within his district for ten days prior to the first day provided for registration, a noiice signed by him, stating the dates upon which registrations will be received re-ceived by him. It shall be tbe duty .f the registration agents, when called upon to do so, at their respective offices, and not elsewhere, at any time between the hours of 8 o'clock a. m. aud 9 o'clock p. m., of the second Monday and third Tuesday and lasi Saturday of August, and the fourth Tuesday, fourth Wednesday, third i'uesday and first Tuesday, and in presidential years, the first Wednesday prior to any general election, to receive re-ceive and register- the names of all persons applying for registration, who, on election day will be legally qualified aud entitled to vote in that district according to the provisions of law under which such election may be held. In other words, registrations may be made on August 14, 15. 26 and October 11, 12, 17, 81 and November 1. (Continued next week) |
