Show 4-H Camp for Older People to Be Held On 8. A.C. Campus May 31 to June 2 An annual older 411 camp for southern Utah club boys and girls will be held at Branch Agricultural Ag-ricultural college In Cedar City May 31- June 2. About 100 older.,4-H members and leaders from southern Utah counties are expected to attend the camp, sponsored by the Utah State Agricultural college U. S. department of Agriculture Cooperative Co-operative Extension Service. Camp registration will be held Tuesday. May 31 at 4 p. m., In the BAC girls' dormitory. Each county 411 group will select a councilman and a council meeting meet-ing will be held at 4:30 to choose a camp mayor, secretary and committees for recreation, handi craft, campfire and courtesy. Roscoe A. Grover, manager of radio station KSUB, Cedar City, will be speaker at a dinner in the Escalante hotel at 6:30. Dr. II. Wayne Driggs. BAC director, will welcome delegates at the dinner. Folk dancing will follow, led by Israel Ileaton, extension specialist. Lamont E. Tucller, Iron county agricultural agent, will be local chairman of the camp. Other extension service personnel per-sonnel participating will Include David Sharp, Jr., supervisor of -youth program; Fern Shipley, assistant as-sistant supervisor; G. Sharp and Shipley: Wednesday; Group singing and techniques of song leading, with Mr. Moore directing, assisted by Mrs. Foy; group "6" discussion. I "our Ideas for county camps", 'with Mr. Carpenter as discussion leader; handicraft, taught by Miss Shipley; recreation, taught by Mr. Heaton. ' Group games will be played in the evening, followed by the showing of two films by Mr. Kllburn. I Thursday: Group singing and techniques of song leading, continued; con-tinued; discussion of "What 4 H club work means to me"; conservation, conser-vation, nature study, camp techniques, tech-niques, taught by Prof. Kilburn; games, box supper. A campfire program will be held in the evening. A feature will be story telling by William R. Palmer. |
