Show Bond Symbol to Tour State for Treasury Drive This week Utah's Bond Wagon, one of a number of covered wagons wa-gons loaned to the Treasury department de-partment by Mayor Gronway R. Parry of Cedar City, and flown from Kansas City to Salt Lake City to be the theme of the U. ,S. Treasury Bond Drive, begins a tour of many communities of the state, according to Clem S. Schramm, state director of Bond Sales for the U. S. Treasury. The week's schedule Includes Hill Field, Malad and Preston, Idaho, Tremonton, Richmond, Smith-field Smith-field and Logan, Utah. Later it will traverse much of the state, but cannot reach all communities, according to Mr. Schramm. The wagon, a typical "49'er" Is equipped with a public address system, and bonds sold from it will have special souvenir sou-venir Jackets with the covered Wagon Theme. Utah's drive to sell its $3,250,-000 $3,250,-000 share of the billion dollar national na-tional quota in the "Opportunity Drive" opened with a rush, when Emery 'county sold double its quota of $5,000 on the opening day, probably the first county in the nation to go over the top, and certainly the fartherest over the top. Total sales to date in the state will not be available for about a week. |
