Show Mis. S. B. lones Dies; Buried in Panaca. Nevada Mrs. Clara Amelia Ronnow Lee Jones, 69, wife of Samuel B. Jones, died at her home Thursday Thurs-day evening. May 19th, following follow-ing an illness of six weeks duration. dura-tion. She had been in a critical condition for the past two or three weeks from the effects of a blood clot on the brain. Funeral services were conduct cd In the Panaca, Nevada, Ward Chapel Monday afternoon, and burial was made in the Panaca cemetary. The services were conducted con-ducted by her son, Bishop Grant I-ee, with residents of Cedar City providing a portion of the program. pro-gram. Speakers at the services were William R. Palmer of Cedar City, and Derrili Ronnow of Salt Lake City. Samuel F. Leigh of Cedar City gave the invocation, and a quartet composed of Mr. and Mrs. Demoin Jones, Mrs. Luana Riddle and Delton Bcttridge of Cedar, sang two numbers, and Mrs. Riddle sang 'The Lord's iTayer." , Mrs. Jones was born In Panaca, on January 10, 1880, a daughter of Christian P. and Amelia Lau-rinne Lau-rinne Hansen Ronnow, early pioneers of the Nevada city. She was educated in the Panaca schools, where the greater part of her life was spent, and In the Rrigham Young University. On November 21, 1901, she married Arthur V. Lee in the St. George LDS Temple. Mr. Lee died In October 1934. Always active In church affairs, Mrs. Jones served in many capacities In the Panaca Ward including president of the Primary association, associa-tion, secretary, class leader and visiting teacher In the Relief Society, Genealogical Research and Temple Work. She did Temple Tem-ple ordinance work lor eight years. For many years she assisted her husband in the operation of the Panaca Co-op. store. On April 15, 1942, she married Samuel B. Jones of Cedar City, and had made her home here since that time. After her mar- riage to Mr. Jones she worked with him in the St. George tern-pie, tern-pie, and they served as Parowan Stake Missionaries for two years. Surviving are her husband, three sons, Orson Vale Lee, of Long Beach California; Parley Grant Lee and Murray C. Lee, of Panaca, Nevada, and two daughters, Mrs. Arvin Lotter, of Santa Monica, California and Mis. Edward West, of Hawthorne, California, together with 10 grand children and 1 great grand child and the following brothers and sisters: Christian P. Ronnow, Erastus F. Ronnow, Daniel J. Ronnow and Mrs. Ell L. Edwards, all of Panaca, Nevada, Mrs. Henry Hen-ry H. Lee of Carson City, Nevada Mrs. Hyrum B. Redford of Rupert, Ru-pert, Idaho and Mrs. Brice Prisby of Joseph. Utah. |
