Show CLEP tests scheduled for August 9th Cedar City Testing for several subject areas in the College-Level Examination Program, better known to thousands of students as CLEP, will be held Aug. 9, at Southern Utah State College. CLEP TESTS . IN English, humanities, natural sciences, mathematics and social sciences-history wil begin at 8:15 a.m. in the SUSC Career Center, Administration Ad-ministration Building 102. Each test costs $20. 1 'The CLEP program was established so that individuals, old and young, can earn credit for what they've learned in life-no matter where or how they learned it--which is directly applied to college graduation requirementsnotes Gary Dunford, SUSC director of counseling and testing. Since the national testing program began in 1971, well over 1,000 SUSC students have earned CLEP CREDIT. 'The majority of these students earn around' 12 credit,' Dunford says, 'while others have earned up to 46 quarter hours of CLEP CREDIT, the maximum amount awarded at SUSC. Students can take the entire battery of tests or only those they feel most proficient in. . 'CLEP was designed for the nontraditional student who has acquired knowledge through correspondence and extension courses, . educational . television, adult education programs, on-the-job training. |
