Show RENNER APPEALS FOR VIENNA'S SUFFERERS NEW YORK, Dec. 22. An appeal for "the starving population of Austria in general and Vienna in particular," re- j cotved by the American relief adminlstra.- tion from Chancellor Renner of the Austrian Aus-trian republic was made public tonight. Tho chancellor declares that peace has been followed by hardships surpassing those endured In war times, and that the peonlo are faced by starvation. j "Hunger and cold have reaped a cruel , harvest among the children, invalids and aged people," added the chancellor's, message, mes-sage, "and the coming winter will bring horrors beyond description to tho entire population. "Onlv quick and sufficient action can save the lives of thousands and thousands thou-sands of innocent victims." The chancellor's appeal Is directed especially es-pecially to American citizens who through their forefathers are related or in some j way connected with the people of Austria. |
