Show 'TEEUH IIIIE" wm it Important Fissure Will Be Cut at Depth, With Forty Feet of Progress. Satisfactory progress Is attending the I campaign of development being prosecuted by the Teeoma Consolidated Manes com- pany, situated in the Luein mining district, dis-trict, 120 miles west of Ogden and about five miles from the main line railroads. ' Since the resumption of activity at this famous old producer, in not much more than a month's time, modern machinery ' has been installed and over 100 feet of the new adit, which wlli be driven more . than 2000 feet Into the hillside, has been (completed, according to C. S. Woodward, manager. I Tn the early 'TO's the old Teroma was active, the mine was extensively developed devel-oped and a smelter operated. Records siiow that the property produced heavily. At no place are the workings, from which thousands or tons of cerrusite ore have been taken, deeper than forty feet, it is j said. The main deposit, from twelve to twenty feet wide, was followed up for ' more than 1000 feet. When the ore pinched to a streak, samples from which assayed 55 per cent lead and 10 ounces j of silver-, work was stopped. By systematic depth development, the 1 management of the company believes that other large deposits can be opened up. The new adit, in its length of 2000 feet, will crosscut numerous ore-bearing fissures, it is said. A copper vein on the surface from thirty to forty feet wide will j be cut by this adit at a depth of 500 feet; the old workings of the Teeoma will be 'tapped at a depth of 225 feet. Approximately Approxi-mately forty feet more of driving will cut . at depth a fissure, which on the surface at depth a fissure which on the surface i to Mr. Woodward, and values of 42 per cent iron, 1 ounce of silver and 1 per cent copper. Preliminary work of putting in chutes and making connections for shipping the ! zinc oxide, a large body of which has been developed, is being done. Recently Salt Lake men Herbert Salinger, L. D. I Foreman and J. W. Wade acquired the right to work this part of the property. |
