Show CITY CLEAN-UP P 0 0 C L A lil A T 1 0 II WHEREAS after an inspection by the City Council of Roosevelt City, it has been revealed that many unsightly, dirty and dangerous conditions exist in "the business section of our city, andWHEREAS on April 25 and 26 the City of Roosevelt " will be host to the Region Five Musical Festival, and approximately approxi-mately 600 High School students and instructors will visit for two days in our city, it has been considered expedient and important im-portant that these existing conditions be removed, NOW THEREFORE, by virture of my office, I, J. V. McLea Mayor of Roosevelt City, do hereby declare, and set aside, Wednesday, April 23, 1952, as Clean-Up Day in the busi-np5; busi-np5; district as specified below: ' ENTIRE LENGTH OF MAIN STREET on both sides, extending from the south entrance north and east to the Dry Gulch concrete bridge, together with the alleys, both east and west of Main Street, and all property adjoining these streets and alleys. Also that portion of Lagoon Street on both sides, from McKinlay Motor Co. corner, west to the City Hall. " AND, I call upon all stores and business houses of Roosevelt to cease all business activities and to close their establishments es-tablishments from 8:00 o'clock a.m. until 1:00 o'clock p.m., on Wednesday, April 23rd, and that all alley-ways, and property at the rear of their places of business, together with sidewalks extending ex-tending alongside of said places of business, be thoroughly cleaned and the accumulated debris be piled so that it can be hauled away. , ALL,TRASH in containers or piled in alleys or on the streets will be' hauled away by City trucks. It's your town! Take care of your share! . Now is Ihe time to inspect your property and start cleaning up. Not only does this project keep down your City's fire loss, but it is a strong factor in reducing delinquency, makes for a better and cleaner environment in which to live; safeguards health and promotes safety.
