McLea, after he returned from a vacation trip to Hawaii last week, was to begin a campaign cam-paign ot cleaning up tne streets ana alleys 01 lue city. Road graders were used to push the mua into the gutters and prisoner labor was used to load and haul it away in trucks. Tuesday Mayor McLea issued a proclamation calling all business busi-ness men and main street property pro-perty owners to jdin in an all-out all-out clean-up of the alleys that run through the business section, sec-tion, plus Main and Lagoon streets. Weunesday, April 23. is the day, and the hour is between 8 a. m. and 1 p. m.. According to the Mayor's proclamation, ai) places of business are asked to close during these hours, and every manager and employee is asked to help clean up the alleys al-leys and streets that pass his property. On April 25 and 26, the City of Roosevelt will be host to approximately ap-proximately 600 high school musicians mu-sicians and their instructors at the annual Region Five Music Festival, which includes schools in San Juan, Emery, Grand, Carbon, Car-bon, Uintah and Duchesne counties. coun-ties. There are approximately 20 schools that will be competing compet-ing in the various competitive music contests.
