Show "You're Gonna Have Weather, Weather or No" By OLD SOL Last Saturday dawned cloudy, with little promise of the kind of weather Milfordites were looking for. Sporadic showers sent pre-Easter pre-Easter finery scurrying for cover, and late in ythe day a husky hailstorm hail-storm whitened the streets. Minimum Min-imum temperature for the day was 40, with a high of 58, according to Mr.. Walters, of the Airways Communication Com-munication Station west of town. Sunday it was as luscious as a Georgia peach is supposed to be. It was a day for driving in the country, but too beautiful a day for a baby to break out in a measles rash, which is what Old Sol's youngest, Sally, did on the return re-turn from a drive to Back Rock. Temperatures were 33 on the bottom bot-tom side and a high of 56. Monday the sun shone bright in our Milford home until about 2 p. m., then clouds and a vicious windstorm wind-storm "spiled" the day for most of us. Late in the evening it started raining. Temperatures were 33 and 56. same as Sunday. Next Monday the American Legion Auxiliary has scheduled their regular meef ing. Tuesday, not a cloud in the sky or suggestion of wind marred the day for the visiting architects as they strolled up and down the street getting ideas for new storefront. store-front. Low mercury reading was 32, and high 62. County commissioners commis-sioners met in Beaver,, the VFW Auxiliary met in the evening, the Masons held their regular confab, i and the Boy Scouts met in the L. D. S. church. Wednesday was a honey of a day, they say. Sol was buried in business busi-ness and didn't stick his head out all day. Little Sally had tossed off the measles and was champing at the bit to get out and play. 28 was the low temperature, and 58 the top heat reading. " ' Thursday was another lovely, with a salubrious high of 73 and a frosty 29 assuring sound sleep during dur-ing the night. The Lions Club met in regular session, with the District Dist-rict Governor a guest. Next Thursday Thurs-day the City Dads meet at the Town Offices to conduct the business busi-ness of the town, and welcome any visitors who have something on their chests they'd like to toss off. |
