Hamblin dies of cancer KAYSVILLE - Raymond Jay Hamblin, 49, of 400 E. 650 S., died Monday, Jan. 9. 1989 at the IDS Hospital in Salt Lake City of can-- can-- cer. -yJ:- H6 was born Feb. 21, 1939, in Kaysville, a son of Charles Raymond Ray-mond and. Alice Augusta Ball Hamblin. . ' He married Maxine Chatwin Oct : 6, 1961 in the Logan LDS Temple. He was reared and educated in Kaysville, graduating from , Davis High School He received a bachelor's bache-lor's degree from the University of Utah and his master's degree from Brigham Young University. He also attended Utah State University and Idaho State University. He had lived in Kaysville for 34 years, New Zealand for 1 1 Vi years, Orem for two years. Soda Springs, Ida. for two years. He was an active member of the Kaysville 11th Ward and had served ser-ved an LDS mission in New Zealand. Zea-land. He had been a temple ordinance ordin-ance worker, bishop's counselor, bishop in New Zealand and was . currently serving on the Kaysville South Stake High CounciL He had taught math in New Zealand Zea-land for 10 years and at Layton High School for 11 years. He had also been a counselor at Soda Springs High School in Idaho. r He enjoyed fishing and gardening.; garden-ing.; Jay will be remembered as a dedicated de-dicated teacher, loving husband, father, son and grandfather and for his years of church service. Surviving are his wife of Kaysville; Kays-ville; two sons and five daughters, Michael Jay Hamblin, serving an LDS mission in Guatemala City; Matthew Raymond Hamblin, Jae-lynne Jae-lynne Hamblin, Lisa Aroha Hamblin, Ham-blin, Jennifer Lee Hamblin, Stephanie Ste-phanie Hamblin, all of Kaysville; Mrs. Bruce (Karie Ann) Brand, and . grandson Jason Brand of Bountiful Also surviving' are his parents, Kaysville; six brothers and two sisters, sis-ters, Duane Hamblin, Leroy Ham-' Ham-' Win, Merlin Hamblin, Ina Hamblin, Joe Hamblin, Carl Hamblin, all of Kaysville; Marlin Hamblin, Layton; Mrs. James (Larene) High, Grants- Ville. ;4-'f--; d Funeral directors, Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary.
