Show Winter classes offer 'broad study- the direction of ShirLee Stermer of Showbiz Productions. Winter quarter instructional classes clas-ses covering a broad range of the humanities, from beginning to advanced ad-vanced oil and watercolor painting, from drawing to dance, will begin at the BountifulDavis Art Center the week of Jan. 17. New classes for this quarter are calligraphy and art history. Calligraphy, Calli-graphy, the art of beautiful writing, will be taught Wednesday evenings by Laurel Lindsay. Learn how to use the quill, reed or flat pen to im- prove your handwriting and ability . to create new and more beautiful forms. For the beginner and those . wishing to refresh their skills. , Students will .explore art, of the Greek, the Roman, the Early Christian, Chris-tian, and the Byzantine periods in the art history class taught by Arthur Adelmann of Weber State College. There will be a weekly slide lecture and discussion with ac- live student verbal participation. Required text "Gardner's!; Art Through the Ages." For those wishing to understand the history of art through the eyes and spirit of modern day. . Additionally the aspiring artist may sign up for any of the numerous nu-merous painting and drawing classes clas-ses held quarterly at the Center and taught by such favorites as Norma Forsberg, Nancy Ketcham, Emma Hamblin, and Jane Carlson Staplin. There are also weekly classes for children 8-14 years in musical theatrepublic performance featuring featur-ing vocal, drama and dance. Under |
