Show . APOSTLE SNOW'S APPEAL. Judge Powers' Decision Affirmed by the Supreme Court. Apostle Snow's appeal case was decided de-cided by the Supreme Court this morning, morn-ing, and, as was generally anticipated, is adverse to the appellant. The opinion is a very lengthy one and was delivered by J udge Zane. It will be remembered that there are three cases of the Apostle on appeal, and it may be taken for granted that the other two will meet with the same fate. The principal position which the decision assails as contained con-tained in the grounds " of appeal is the claim of the defendant that he has not lived or cohabited with any but the one of his several wives ; that since the passage of the Edmunds law he has observed its requirements. The Court opines that it is not sufficient to show that there has been no actual living together to-gether as man and wife with the several women that the. fact that they have been previously acknowledged as his wives and that no legal separation has taken place is evidence which criminates the defendant in the sight of the law. It is not known whether an appeal will be taken from this decision or not. Thiry days were allowed for action. |
