Show A Threatened Cablegram War. London, February 5. At the annual meeting meet-ing of the shareholders of the Anglo-American Cable Company to-day it was reported that the receipts for 1885 had been reduced 93,926 by the cutting of rates and the competition com-petition of the Mackay-Bennett Company. The Chairman of the Anglo American Company Com-pany predicted that there would soon be an increase in the cable tariff. He declared that if theMackay-Bennett people declined to be influenced by reasons in favor of higher tolls a war of rates would be inevitable. inevi-table. - -: - |
