Show Death of a Noted Jesuit. St. Louis, February 6. Private dispatches were received here yesterday from Kome announcing the death of Rev. Joseph E. Keller, assistant to the General of the Jesuit Order. Father Keller was born in Bavaria in 1827, but was brought to this city when a child, and received his early education here. He joined the Jesuit Order in 1844, was ordained a priest in Cincinnati by Archbishop Purcell in 1853, after which he became a teacher in Cincinnati at Beards-town, Beards-town, and also at the University in this city. Subsequently he was made Vwmlot Maryland. He was twice appointed representative repre-sentative to the General Convention of the order of Kome, and for the past two years hehas served as Assistant to the General in Itome f or all English-speaking countries in the world.
