Mr. Heybourne presented the petition of citizens citi-zens of Iron county asking an appropriation appropri-ation of $2,000 for boring artesian wells in said county. The petition asserts that there are in that county 800,000 acres of land susceptible of cultivation if water for irrigation could be secured, and that only 10,000 acres of land in said" county are now under cultivation. Committee on Irrigation. reports or committees. From the Committee on Ways and Means, with amendments, C. F. No. 29, to provide revenue for the Territory of Utah and the several counties. Report and amendments adopted, and the bill placed on file and ordered printed. From same committee, C. F. No. 31, amending sections 2 and 3. chapter 31, laws of 1882, relating to the duties of Territorial Ter-ritorial Sealer of Weights and Measures. General file. From the Judiciary Committee, amendments amend-ments to H. F. No. 30, relating to civil procedure, with amendments. From the Committee on Public Accounts, Ac-counts, that the bill of W. A. C. Bryan was just, and recommending that it be introduced in-troduced in the general appropriations. Adopted. Shurtleff, from the Committee on Public Pub-lic Health, C. F. No. 30, amending Section 388, Chapter 1, title 9, regulating the mode of procedure in criminal cases, Laws of 1878. Read second and third times, and was unanimously passed. THIRD READING OF BILLS. C. No. 17, amending section 56, chapter 45, laws of 1884, revising the proceedings pro-ceedings in Justices' Courts, and providing provid-ing for appeals to District Courts in criminal crim-inal cases. Made the special order for Tuesday, February 9. C. F. No. 27, amending the act incorporating incor-porating Morgan City. Made the special order for Monday, February 8. . The Honse. .'Mr. Farnsworth presented a petition from the County Court of Beaver County asking reimbursement for amounts expended ex-pended in capturing and boarding prisoners pris-oners during the years 1884-5. The Agriculture and Irrigation Committee Com-mittee reported back the substitute for H. F. No. 20, with amendments. . The Live Stock Committee reported II F. No. 24, with a substitute bill. The Fish and Game Committee reported report-ed C. F. No. 10 and II. F. No. 11, with a substitute for C. F. No. 10. The Committee on Claims and Public Accounts reported favorably on the claim of Benjamin Bachman for $728, that of J. R. Wilkin for $1,290, Zera Snow, legal services, and the claims of Auditor Clayton Clay-ton and Treasurer Jack for witness fees and mileage in the Rogerson case. The Live Stock Committee reported H. F.
