Show The Wealth of Jay Gonld. -At the close of the present year Mr. Jay Gould retires from active business with - ; ""' . j 50,000 shares of Manhattan, , '. j 200,000 shares of Missouri Pacific, j 200,000 shares of Western Union. The aggregate of these holdings represents repre-sents a par value of $45,000,000. The above shares stand to-day in the name of Mr. Gould on the books and are paid for in full ; not a single dollar does he owe on any one of them. In addition,. Mr. Gould has over $12,000,000 to his credit j in various banks and trust companies. ! Besides, he has not less than $10,000,000 par value in the stocks of the Wabash j company,' with, of course, a large, hold- j ihg in the bonds of his Southwestern sys- i tern. Mr. Gould owes not a dollar, in j Wall street, and he has nothing that is not paid for in full. Mrs. Gould has in ! her own name a large amount invested in city and suburban property.
