Show THE ROOF LEAKED, NotwithstandiiiKCrowtou & Co.'s Gauranty That It Would Hold Good for Twenty Years. The case of James Thompson vs. F. Crowton & Son et al. was tried, argued and submitted yesterday in the Third District Court. This morning the Court stated in effect that it seems the defendants defend-ants guaranteed a certain patent roof placed on plaintiffs dwelling house to last from ten to twenty years, if properly painted, and it appears that the roof has leaked ever since it was constructed, in consequence of which damages dam-ages were sought. On the other hand, the defendants deny making other guarantees than given by the company; but from the testimony it becomes evident, evi-dent, I am inclined to think, that the agreement was not fully kept. The Court gave judgment in favor of the plaintiff to the amount of $25 for repairs, re-pairs, $25 for damages, and $25 for damages dam-ages to the house from rain, as against Crowton & Son, and against defendant Pugsley for costs. |
