Show COLLIN -ADMITTED TO BAIL. A Synopsis of McJMurrin's "Dying: Declaration' He Admits . Firing at Collin. A writ of habeas corpus was issued yesterday yes-terday for the purpose of admitting Henry C. Collin to bail. The Prosecuting Prosecut-ing Attorney and Mr. Rawlins agreed that McMurrin's dying declaration might be admitted in evidence on motion to admit ad-mit to bail, and Squire Speirs and Mr. Wells, who took McMurrin's testimony, were to-day sworn and stated in substance sub-stance that Dr. Benedict at the time informed in-formed McMurrin that he couldn't live ; that Dr. Benedict and Speirs asked the questions and Wells wrote them down at the time the man was thought to be dying. McMurrin stated he met Collin in the dark alley, and in crossing he run against Collin and struck over him. Collin Col-lin shot, and in the excitement he . (McMurrin) (Mc-Murrin) also fired. Collin was admitted to .bail in the sum of $1,500, on account of being a poor man. |
