Show Trade adjustment act reinstated CLEARFIELD - One thousand Utahns could be affected by an announcement made today by Duane Price, Unemployment Insurance In-surance Director for the Utah Department De-partment of Employment Security (Job Service). Mr. Price said Job Service has received authority through the Department of Labor to resume paying unemployment .insurance benefits provided through the Trade Adjustment Assistance Act. ORIGINALLY this act had expired ex-pired on Dec. 19, 1985 but it was recently extended by congressional congression-al action and signed into law by President Reagan. Retoractive payments can be received for claims filed properly after Dec. 21, 1985. The Trade Adjustment Assistance Assist-ance Act benefits are available to workers of employers who have been certified by the Department of Labor as having been adversely affected by foreign imports. It pro-, pro-, vides for additional weeks of unit un-it employment benefits beyond the maximum benefit period in Utah of 26 weeks. The act also provides for training, job search and relocation of eligible workers.
